Charlestown Lacrosse is a non-profit
community organization in Boston that provides inner-city boys and girls
of all
ages with the opportunity to participate
in competitive and instructional lacrosse, academic tutoring programs,
prevention
workshops, and community service
activites. Founded in 1997, Charlestown Lacrosse has grown from a single
team of approximately 25
high-school age boys, to a six-team
program providing activities for over 170 boys and girls. Participants
learn to play lacrosse,
overcome obstacles, value education,
and take pride in their community. In doing so, Charlestown Lacrosse
strives to create a
model urban program that produces
responsible student-athletes. |
